In 2011, the company’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Timothy Porter, saw a news article regarding a young student who had taken his own life, due to having been bullied at school. Mr. Porter immediately felt the sadness and senselessness of this story and knew that he wanted to make a difference, so out of his home garage…Appddiction Studio was born.
Being a highly skilled software designer with an MBA, concentrated in IT, Mr. Porter set upon creating a mobile application which would provide young people with a means of fighting back against bullying. This innovative App gave students a way to anonymously report such incidents, in real time, when they occur.
This program now empowers and positively affects many young lives and has earned multiple accolades and awards, which we are proud and humbled by. Since those early beginnings, Mr. Porter has continued to build a successful commercial business and in 2014, also earned the company’s SBA 8a designation and SDVOSB certification.
Since becoming a federal contractor, Mr. Porter has been awarded two contracts with the U.S. Army and has performed exceptionally. In 2015, Appddiction Studio hired James Steele as part of the leadership team. Mr. Steele had a decade of federal government contracting experience, with a specialization in medical staffing.
With Mr. Porter’s expertise in Information Technology and Mr. Steele’s background in federal contracting and medical staffing, Appddiction Studio is company on the rise. In addition to the company’s core competencies, Appddiction Studio is also an organization committed to giving back.
They are active in the communities we serve and support volunteerism amongst our team. In fact, Mr. Porter recently donated several computer systems to a youth organization to inspire the next generation of innovators.
